Random Leaf #1928 precisely cut

The moon is never part of the ocean,
and yet the ebb is her own.
And among the many,
she’s the first to greet her goodnight.

The moon is never part of the land,
and yet in her glow,
the shade of night wanders elsewhere.
Yet unknown to many,
she became the guide of wanderers at night.

The moon may be part of the sky,
but the evening sky is hers.
The sky at night is her.
There may be clouds, stars, even rain,
completing the sky—
but without her,
the night sky will never be.
