Random Leaf #1544

"What does anger feel like?"

"Imagine planting a single seed and then taking care of it until it grows into a tree. Then you kept on planting more and more. Then one day you realized, you've made a forest. You take a walk inside the forest, your feet are old, evident of the sound of your footstep and the voice of your own bones aching."

"That's not anger at all."

"Then you come across an uninvited guest. Let's say, a forest wood pecker. The sound it made have no meaning to be there. The bird disrupts the peace the place you made have.

"You try to shoo it away but the bird either kept on pecking or if in case they fly away, they kept returning."

"Yeah, I guess, you're right. You'd get angry at that. You made the forest after all."

"You thought and tried of many ways and methods but none were useful at all."

"So what happened?"

"You remembered you had a matchbox sitting in the corner drawer of your room. And a jerrycan half filled with fuel right outside the back of your house."

"So you burned the forest?"

"So you burned the forest that you've planted, taken care of and made into a magnificent place. All of that just to get the woodpecker out."

"All of that just.. get back at the woodpecker? Isn't that a bit too excessive?"

"No anger is ever enough."

"In the forest, it is not the barks nor the roots that first caught our attention. It is the leaves."

"It maybe different for everyone."

"Haven't you realized it? The first one to doubt that no one would even expect are usually the ones who worked hard and believed the most."

"The first one to doubt? Worked hard and beliebed the most? Isn't that a bit, contradicting?"

"Hey, give me a pinch. Maybe, I'm dreaming. I can't believe it. Is this for real? Really? No way!?"

"Oh! I get what you mean. But aren't those just movie serendipities?"

"What do you mean?"

"Those who made it to the top would not nonchalantly say that when they are seeing their own greatness for the first time. Usually, I am certain, in their mind, it goes like: I can do this. This is my time. Just a bit more. Or something like that."

"Then we go back to: Hey, give me a pinch. Maybe, I'm dreaming. I can't believe it. Is this for real? Really? No way!?"

"Actually."

"Laugh at me if you want. But you will not change my belief that magic does exists in this world. It's nothing like miracle or chance probability I'm speaking of. It's not even tricks or sleight of hands. I am talking of actual magic. It exists. I know it does. I may nit have proof of it and all my knowledge are just based on fantastic stories and games. Regardless, magic does exist."

"Magic, like in the fairy tales? Conjuration of fire out of nothing, magical levitations to flight and speaking to animals, spirits and even invisible beings."

"Yes, those things."

"But those are just-"

"Bah! Whatever, laugh. I cannot change how you view it. But I'm certain you won't change my mind."

"But I'm not laughing. Magic does exists."

"Are you for real?"

"The archetype of a hero does  ot exist in this story line. Maybe in another book. But not here."

"What sort of protogonist does exists here?"

"In a world where a billions of protagnists exist, there is no main character. Only tragic faceless characters and side characters."

"What is the story about?"

"The ruiniation of these billion protagonist unaware of their doomed fate."

"This story then is a tragedy."

"No, it isn't."

"What is it then?"

"It is not tragedy."

"It's funny, how the world easily recognizes the slight changes within us. It notices the slight darkening of our eyes from the many traumas we had to endure and without holding back, it will, by any means possible, reminds us of who we truly are.

"A certain dark in our face is less befitting for what is known as a kind and gentle soul. Be it a voice, a jest, a simple tune or even a minute miracle, no matter how gloomy we are, without doubt, a glimmer of smile would easily bring back the glow we always have."

"Do you know the battles I'm been through?"

"I don't but I know you're someone suites to be happy, foolishly laughing and always smiling. Your battles matters but remember that you matter as well."

"How can I smile in face of a losing battle?"

"Learn. Be patient. Have faith. These are the most cliche stuffs you'd hear but here I am telling you no matter how many times you need to hear it."

Random Leaf #1538

"You dream of being a hero yourself. Oh, my poor child, you are too innocent to realize this world you are in does not recognize heroes."

"I will become a hero."

"The heroes you speak of, they are mere puppets attached to them are strings coated with whatever high values they themseves believed in or are told of."

"There are heroes."

"The ones decorated are mere villains supposedly looking at the grand scheme unaware they are just painting a murale and their part is but a single stroke compared to the greater picture."

"Vill-"

"Yes, villains, decorated and so much adorned with many medals, honors and lies many could possibly have unquestioning faith in. The sad truth is not that most of them are unaware of their own misdeed but some deliberately chose to be evil for whatever trivial cause they can think of. For country, honor or family. Unbeknownst to many, they are trivial things."

"I will still become a hero."

"Sacrifice can sound heroic but it isn't. It never is. For whatever cause you may think of, sacrifice, much like suicide isn't heroic. You may call it bravery, it never will be heroic."

"How do I become one? A hero."

"You cannot. In this world, at least."

"Is there a way?"

"Dream."

"Witness, it is, I, who killed my bestfriend. my bestfriend, who paitently waited for, who deeply cared for me, who loved me dearly. I am guilty of this crime. I shot him on his head. It is I who killed him.

"But of the crime of betraying him, I am innocent. His smile while he lied motionless is my alibi.

"He never mentioned but I am ultimately sure, he lived a satisfying life. And his death right beside me is his most precious wish.

"Hang me if you want for the murder of my friend but never label me as a traitor. I never betrayed him."
