Mom, Dad, I'm sorry.

Random Leaf #1416

On a mound of flowers
offered to the fallen.
A gentle footstep approached.
Rugged hands slipped through the crowd
and with ease and grace picked a flower.
The onlooker gazed and felt disgust,
who dared mock the departed souls.
Unadorned by the mockers hood
a gentle smile poured out.
He replaced the flower back.
A simple truth faintly lingers in his mind,
only those who've died are the true heroes.
