Random Leaf #1703

First, let me be honest,
it is my choice,
it had always been.

You thought I'm that angel
of a child you always thought I was
but that isn't the case.

I don't to disappoint you and
so I must adorn this mask
of being a good child.

But that is never my choice.
I am always a bad apple from the start.
The one totally rotten to the core.

I'm not influenced by my peers,
mind you.
I am their influence.

I am evil, mom, dad. And that is my choice.
You only influenced me to be kind,
but that isn't the real me.

Don't say that you've failed as parents,
you didn't! I did as your child.
Mom, dad, you're not to blame.

And you know
what else is a choice,
forgiving others.

Who are you to mock others
when you yourselves cannot pray
For others as evil, or more than, as I am.

Random Leaf #1702

From where we stand,
our balance are easily shift.
We, without much given effort
or thought, gets toppled
from a slight relentless force push.

And this masks we wear is what
we used to be ourselves.
Without these things to cover ourselves,
we are taken aback and our truth be hid.

We are skeletons,
but more.
We are flesh,
but we are more than just flesh.
We are out skins,
but we are also our flaws.

Our disease be holding us,
worry not,
it is us but we are beyond.

Random Leaf #1700

Here I thought I heard knocks
and when I looked through the window
over the shoulder of the veranda
I saw a wolf.

The knocks were scratches
made fool of the illusion of
certain magic, these mystic creature does.
But there was no lust. Only fear.

I hurried to the door and whisper softly
"who's there," in the middle of the night,
while the moon pictures herself over
a dreamless, quiet pond of sleepers.

"Help!"
"Open the door."
"I'm cold."
"I'm hungry."

"Who's there?"
"An old lady seeking fleeting abode."
"This door only open to wolves and liars.
"Your kind is never welcome here."

"Alas! I'm no old lady.
I am a wolf."

Random Leaf #1699

No trodden path
unclaimed and disturbed
by far off echoes

sounds waving
the distant sky billowing
whispers of love unforgotten.

A voice heard far off
calling back whales
touching the horizon.

The stars acry of melody
Untethered by fleeting memories
gone past what remained.

No exterior or veins see
through lies uncoveyed,
beating and shivering.

The snow masked the sand,
the sand buried the rocks,
the rocks lied on spaces on water.

No song could hear,
No drawing could hear,
No loving hands could touch.

Wandering off
the distant waves
of dunes, waves and the sky.

Random Leaf #1698

Be swept unlike the ebb.
Words like river dancing
curving at landings, towers
and monuments,
time spoke of.

Undenied by mountain,
a many of cragged likes
and adventurers travelling.

Travellers going off adventures,

destination faces off edges
not quite sure but certain.

Seriously playing a game called life.

Share not the blessing
but the moment.

We came off as children
seeking light like moths
betrayed by the dark.

Eyes does not see but
tasteless colors dancing.

Ever guile of green hue and
the taste of red,
not rusted iron.

We felt it,
untouched,
cold and free.

Let us.
Let us.
Let us.
Let us.

Random Leaf #1697

When did we stopped talking about the important things?
Don't say stocks, politics, numbers, statistics, opinions.
Please don't.
Those are important too but there are things far more essential than they are.

When did we stopped talking about the important things?
Don't say that love, poetry, the stars and clouds don't matter.
Because they do.
It is tragic that these are things we've forgotten.

Random Leaf #1696

"I was drowning at that time."

"You're both on the stage."

"Yeah. Oh! If you just heard the silence when we got on that platform, that very moment, I thought, I couldn't even breath. And the only sound I could hear is the blood rushing in me and the very loud noise of my beating heart. That's all within and without is complete silence."

Random Leaf #1695

Not much damage done,
the core is still intact.
He can be saved-

Oh! Wait, there's a fracture.
Somewhere, around here.
Something tells me, it's a girl.

No, you aren't pregnant.
You're a man and it's only natural,
for a girl to be in your heart.

Random Leaf #1694

I know it may sound stupid,
but hear me out.
It wasn't just a love story.

He became a hero,
one who even went against fate,
succeeded in saving his beloved.

The reward he got was a shout.
Though stupid it may seemed,
it is definitely heard.

Unfortunately, there is a price to pay.
A common thing to all heroes of all age.
Only he and time can tell if the trade is fair.

Random Leaf #1693

And do you know
why the fallens are shunned?

Left arm,
Third rib to the right,
Shoulder blade,
Kidney,
Liver.
Is that the spleen?

They have this certain obsession,
this peculiar passion that they sort of,
can not easily turn of,
can not, with all their might and judgment,
control themselves,
to love with everything,
from their hooves,
their slick pointed tails
their lengthy limbs,
their bat like wings,
their fangs, their slit eyes
and to their horns.

But these aren't for themselves,
these are what they can give for love
and it goes without saying that
it can and will always go beyond that.

Remember to be cautious.
Their love is always a paradox.

Random Leaf #1692

Given the chance,
to burn the entire city,
you gave it warmth.

Given the chance,
to crush anything and everything you hate,
you started saving people.

Given the chance,
to scream and complain and rightfully be heard
you started singing.

You chose beauty,
you chose kindness,
you chose to give.

Some things no one chose for you,
You commit to selflessness
and still in the end, you're alone.

Somewhere high up, overlooking the trivialities,
You contemplate on the what ifs
and all you have is nothing but a worn out smile on your face.

Dance of Leaves #3

Title: Himpapawid Pababa

at natatanging panmatagalang makakaalala

Chorus:

May nagmamadali,
May papetiks,
may umiibig,
may naghahanap pa ng tunay na pagibig,
may nililigawan,
lahat sila ay may layuning umusad, kahit pabalik man o paharap.

Outro:
Oh! Ilaw! Sa gabing madilim..

Dance of Leaves #2

Title: Bulong ni Satanas

Hudyat ng umaga,
Magdasal sabay mag mura.
Gumawa ng kabutihan,
yung marami ang nakakakita.
Hindi ka mabuti kung walang nakakaalam.

Chorus:
Magdasal para mapatawad,
Magdasal para gantimpalaan.
Pinagpala lamang, ang naniniwala
Sa kabilang buhay na walang hangganan.
Humayo't magkasala!
Di' ka papatawarin kung wala kang kasalanan.
Nilalang tayo sa kamunduhan,
Hinandog satin ang sanlibutan.
H'wag kang magalaala,
Isang dasal lamang at minsan lamang magsimba

Makamit man natin ang mithiin,

Mag bunyi at umawit,
heto na ang pagwawakas.

Chorus:
Magdasal para mapatawad,
Magdasal para gantimpalaan.
Pinagpala lamang, ang naniniwala
Sa kabilang buhay na walang hangganan.
Humayo't magkasala!
Di' ka papatawarin kung wala kang kasalanan.
Nilalang tayo sa kamunduhan,
Hinandog satin ang sanlibutan.
H'wag kang magalaala,
Isang dasal lamang at minsan lamang magsimba

Outro:
Tabi tabi po,
sa bangkay,
lulubog lilitaw
sasarado hukay.

Tabi tabi po,
sa bangkay,
lulubog lilitaw
sasarado hukay.

Random Leaf #1691

"I came all the way there to sing. They told me the atmosphere, the air, the scenery would help so much in recovering what I had lost but once I got there. Once I got on there stage and did my thing, the audience were silent."

"Of course they are."

"I was not told they were deaf."

"And no one in the audience knew you lost your voice. Isn't it fascinating?"

"My voice? What do you mean my voice? I can speak and sing perfectly fine."

"But that is not your voice."

"What?"

"I am not talking about the sound coming out of your mouth."

"What are-"

"You said it yourself, right? You can't sing as you used too."

"But that's.."

"They were never there to hear your own voice. You were there to find it."

"But.. what? I don't understand.."

"Did you find it?"

"What do you mean? I was up on stage, I was dancing for them just for them to get any reaction. I was having cold sweats when after singing there weren't any reaction. Only when I noticed two or thrre of the audiences moving their hands had I realized they were doing signs. And so-"

"And so you danced."

"Yes! Yes, I dance. I'm a singer but first I'm also an entertainer. And most of all I'm an artist. I just.. I cannot simply go up the stage and leave my viewer clueless of what I sang."

"No one told you to dance."

"But I want them to know what I was singing. Else it will haunt me for a few days that I gave them a performance they do not understand."

"No one told you to-"

"Yes, no one did. But that is my duty."

"Your duty?"

"I have to."

"And all the while you were singing."

"I.. I guess I did."

"Were you glad you did?"

"Should I be? I was very tired of the song and for to redo it all the whilr dancing the song and you know what I guess it was even useless of me singing whie dancing because they couldn't hear what I was singing."

"But you did anyway."

"Yes! I felt the music, I have to. And the dance, which I never even practiced, just happened."

"Were you glad?"

"I was tired."

"The heavy breathing and the panting afterward is a testament to that. But did you notice you were smiling?"

"I was smiling?"

Random Leaf #1690

"You claim yourself light incarnate, brighter than the sun and one who casts shadows yet with just one smile you quiet down. Ha! Pathetic!"

"You don't know her smile. She like-"

"Quiet you! You're just flaunting this sort of bravado but in truth you too want to be loved."

"What?"

"Your smile is a fraud. Your light is never bright as you thought it is. It is just too bright. Nothing more."

"You.. I don't understand what you're-"

"Yes, yes. Just like you always keep to yourself. You're a.. you're a liar."

"What did I do?"

Random Leaf #1689

"Yes, you have doubts and uncertainties but surely you cannot just simply deny that the world notices you."

"Notice me? Well, I do speak as loud as I can. That can be hard to not noti-"

"You may treat it as a joke or simply brush it off trying to devalue your worth. But you cannot. Unless you keep on the infamy, you will be loved. You will be noticed."

Random Leaf #1688

And in the event I see a red flag rising,
better to set sail forward and off course
than go back and let our tailwind be seen.

Cry dilligently. Let the tears flow.
But not yet. We have to smile first.
Let it sink in. And cherish this moment.

That red flag will go a long way.
This I promise you. It just that it will hurt.
It will hurt really really bad.

But not yet now when the waves are still
keeping us afloat and steady that
One may enjoy the scenery and beyond.

Just promise me not to go overboard.
After all things are sailed and done.
The ocean is such vast and deep place.

A single flag when seen through lenses
Quietly singing the melody of the tides
and dancing on the tune of the horizon.

Random Leaf #1687

"I was never given a hero sense. That natural ability that just makes the hero move despite of whatever danger that happens. It's like a second nature reaction that, like a puppet, makes them move without them even realizing it. And all this actions I refer would all the time lead them to do heroic deeds. Like that one tine when a child is about to get hit by a car or something and our hero just instictively move to save said child. Or like when a hero sees a man getting thrown off a bridge, regardless of reason, said hero will jump off the bridge in order to save said man. This is regardless the man himself knows how to swim and the hero is also without regard if he knows how to swim. The hero just move. I know you know what i'm talking about.

"And as I said, I don't have that. All I have is doubts and a sense of self preservation. I am no hero. I have nothing to back me up even if people wants me to be one. I am no hero."

"But you yourself want to be one, right?"

"I am no hero."

"Don't you want to be one?"
