Random Leaf #1565

"So this unrequited love yours, this is by choice, right? Or you just haven't had that certain courage, or rather, that spark of madness, that'll push you to ask her. You know she has many admirers. Any one of this day, you'll-"

"Stop, you don't have to tell me about it. I'm keeping it out of my mind."

"Wait, what? You're seriously not planning on trying?"

"I.. I guess, I won't. I love this idea of being in love but isn't love about bonds? I can't say that first sight love are true but I supposed they're just skin deep, and nothing else? I know many will disagree with I have in mind but that's just it. I can be in love with her.. Should I even call it love? I admire her for her beauty, her intellect and whatever I can see or hear about her but that's just it. I don't know much about her. And for me to be in love with her is like.. I don't know. Like finding a simple pebble.. wait, she wouldn't want to be compared to a piece of rock, it's too simple. I, myself, wouldn't want to be compared to one as well. Let's say a flower. She's like a flower in the side of a road. She stands out but that's it. I'd admire her for being there but that's all."

"Why not talk to her?"

"As you've said, I haven't yet got that spark of madness that would let me. In more simple term, I'm not that courageous."

"That's a lie, right? You're the bravest person we know when it comes to speaking out your mind and heart."

"Truth be told, it's a facade I had to put up. I'm glad that it's working."

"Why though?"

"I've read somewhere two things when it comes to love, first is not to love someone unready and half-baked. You'd best be prepared when you do. The way you see her now is probably the best days of her life. And if in case, you decide to take her away, can keep up with the challenge of letting her keep that smile she has or even go beyond. If you can't, then the answer is no."

"It's not always about that. In wedding vows, couples always say, in sickness or in health. Or whatever the vows are. You'll be facing life's up and down together-"

"I can't imagine seeing her like that. And I'd rather not see her not smile or worst, be the reason why that genuine smile cease. I can't have that. In short, I guess, I'm not yet ready."

"You could at least get to know her, at least."

"I'm good. Just seeing her happy right now, is making something inside my stomach go fluffy and warm."

"Even if she finds someone else?"

"Yes. Sad to say, I'll be happy if she finds happiness in someone else's arm. But that's just it, time to move on. One of the advantages of unrequited love."

"Sounds like a tragic comedy."

"It is. Unrequited love aren't supposed to have any commitments."

"What of those who committed themselves but their love remains unrequited."

"It's no longer called unrequited love. It's called unconditional love. A love more painful, easily shattered, yet the strongest and most resilient."

"How can you kno-"

"Maybe I'm committed to someone else. I think?"
