Random Leaf #1880 precisely cut

It did appear in his mind—
he was one of the abandoned.
But he was so nonchalant about it.
The way he spoke to everyone,
the way he spoke of hope,
of dreams, and of things getting better.
No one even asked—not a soul—
who would be saving him.
To be fair, it was already written.
He knew.
He had known all along
that he would be left behind.
But he kept it to himself.
Or rather, he didn’t want to jinx it.
He was hopeful until the end.
He never wanted that fate—
and yet, he accepted it.
Deep down in his mind,
he knew, in the end,
he would be left behind.
