Random Leaf #1871 IG

But she's not of the right mind. Tell me it isn't abuse to have her served them their family's food and wine, all the while they insulted her and even have made her sing silly why while they go merry on about with themselves. This happened while the husband is away and only the wife is at home.

Isn't the husband's anger not justified?

------

Oh! How bitter —
How cruel this world can be.

She is not of the right mind.
She is not of the right mind.

Still — they abused her.
With mocking voices and sharpened stares,
they ordered her to serve
their family’s finest wine
and the most delicious dinner.

And all the while,
they insulted her — even
commanded her to sing
the silliest of songs.

And all the while,
they carried on in their merry spirits.

All this —
and the wife obeyed.
Without hesitation, with innocence,
with trust, and every good thing.
For the visitors claimed to be
dear friends of her husband.

She hummed songs she thought beautiful —
they called it ugly.
She smiled as she served without deft,
trembled — almost stumbled,
still she tried hard —
and they mocked her.
Spilled wine all over.
Scattered crumbs and threw leftovers
all over.

They dirtied the house
the husband and wife
from the ground-up built.

Oh! How cruel —
How bitter this world can be.

She is not of the right mind.
She is not of the right mind.

Still she loves her husband —
with all her heart.
When it's her husband,
she saw no malice,
only love.

And —

All of this happened
while the husband was away —
and only the wife was home.

So —
who, then, carries the fault?
